Pastor Denise:
With the background of being raised in Spokane, WA as a Catholic and inspired by attending the United Methodist Church beginning in 1982, she felt called into pastoral ministry. This special calling, then, led her to Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado from 1991 to 1994. Her first pastorate in Deer Park, Washington took her back in the area of her childhood home. After being appointed to Battle Ground Community UMC in the summer of 1997, Pastor Denise has maintained a calm, caring nature during the difficult years of moving from the historic site a block off Main Street in downtown Battle Ground to the current, highly visible site on 199^th Street. Pastor Denise helped dedicate the current building in 2002 and is now seeking spiritual guidance and further education via workshops to help this church community grow to be effective disciples of Christ. In this way, she redesigns and enhances her own gifts according to the needs of the people she lovingly nurtures into faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Sandra - Choir Director

Battle Ground UMC is pleased to announce the addition of a new organist/pianist to our staff as of September 2005! Sandra comes to us with a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance and has played for various church services for 13 years. She is, also, currently working as Choir Conductor/Vocal Coach for the well-known choral group, "Touch of Class". Sandra plays both organ and piano as well as the violin, conducts private organ lessons, and is experienced in leading both adult and youth choirs. Familiar with both traditional and contemporary worship music, she is a wonderful asset to us, and we are blessed to have Sandra become an integral part of BGCUMC.

Janet - Pianist

Janet became our pianist in Sept., 2007. A very welcome addition to our team.

Debbie - Nursery Attendant

As of October 2004, our nursery caregiver has been working 10 years in child care and has worked for the Battle Ground Community United Methodist Church for seven years. During that time she has fulfilled continuing education requirements to meet state regulations for all day-care workers. Beyond the state regulations, we require a background check on all nursery caregivers and we require CPR training for infants/toddlers. Debbie, herself a caring mother, has a warm smile and a comfortable nature. Currently she is back in school with the goal of counseling with children. We support her efforts and pray for her success.

Fran - Secretary

Fran joined us December 2007 as the BGUMC Secretary. She recently moved from Sacramento to Battle Ground where she lives with her husband and 2 sons. In her spare time, she is studying for her AA degree in Medical Assisting at Everest College. Her sunny smile and easy going manner make Fran a welcome addition to our team.

Wedding Coordinator (no photo yet)

Barbara devotes her planning and organizational skills to schedule wedding dates and pre-marriage meetings with Pastor Denise. Couples wishing to be married in Battle Ground Community United Methodist Church are asked to contact the church office at 687-2542.
